Bush Congratulates Discovery Crew
[Media Source*]
(Red Nova) President Bush congratulated the space shuttle Discovery team on Tuesday, saying their 14-day mission "regains the confidence of the American people" after the Columbia tragedy 2 1/2 years ago...
"It was a great achievement," the president said. "It was an important step for NASA as it regains the confidence of the American people and begins to transition to the new mission we've set out for NASA."
Editor's Note: Saw the shuttle land this morning. Was excited to see NASA "back in action!" Will be more excited once they launch the a shuttle towards the moon. (image of Discovery landing below)
Space Shuttle Discovery lands at Edwards Air Force Base at 8:12 a.m. EDT on August 9 after spending nearly two weeks in orbit, where the crew demonstrated new methods to inspect and repair the Shuttle in orbit. The crew also delivered supplies, outfitted and performed maintenance on the International Space Station. (Source)
