Great News About Terri!
[Media Source*] (Hat Tip: Captains Quarters)
Great News Indeed!
The Senate Health Committee has requested that Terri Schiavo and her husband, Michael, appear at an official committee hearing on March 28. Earlier Friday, a House committee was issuing congressional subpoenas to stop doctors from disconnecting the tube.
"It is a contempt of Congress to prevent or discourage someone from following the subpoena that's been issued," David Gibbs, the attorney for her parents, said. "What the U.S. Congress is saying is, 'We want to see Terri Schiavo.'"
And there is much rejoicing outside.
"The family is prayerfully excited about their daughter going before the United States Congress for the whole world to see how alive she is." [David Gibbs said]
I am as well. I think Michael Schiavo is scared, especially if the world gets to see a taste of this!
Unfortunately our Judiciary department is proving it's lack of judgment when it comes to moral issues as I have just received word from The Black Kettle via Feed Reader that they have denied hearing Terri's case. (from CNN)
The Schindlers filed an emergency appeal early Thursday with the Supreme Court to stop the feeding tube from being removed, arguing that their daughter's religious freedom and due process rights were being violated. But at 7 p.m., the high court rejected the appeal without comment.
We are still not out of the neck of the woods yet so call your Senators!
