Church Burned To The Ground

[Gospel for Asia] officials said that police are investigating the April 19 attack on the Believers Church located in the Thoubal district in the northeastern Indian state of Manipur. Four Christians associated with the church were injured in the violence, including one man who had to be hospitalized for his injuries.
"Such opposition is a daily fact of life for our missionaries on the front lines in many parts of Asia," said Gospel for Asia Founder and President K.P. Yohannan in a news release. "I ask the body of Christ pray daily for their persecuted brothers and sisters in these situations."
Although it is unclear who or which faction attacked the church, the GFA leaders plan on rebuilding the structure despite warnings of being attacked again. Ironically these believers have had their church burned down twice before, as well as having some of their members attacked (with one being hospitalized). Despite the persecution though, these Christians are refusing to back down with their message of hope to the world.
"Christ calls us to take His message to ‘the least of these,'" Yohannan said in the news release. "We will not be deterred from sharing the love of Christ and obeying what Jesus has called us to do, no matter what the cost."
Local authorities are issuing police to the area to provide protection during the reconstruction of the Church in order to ensure that the building is finished without hassle. Gospel for Asia who is responsible for planting this church in India, is one of the most active "evangelical" ministries in the Eastern sphere of the world, planting an average of 15 churches a day through their native missions network.
