Israel Develops First Laser Diamond Cutter

(Isracast) The Israeli company Sarin, developer and manufacturer of precision diamond and gemstone production technology, has recently started shipping a new system for cutting diamonds using green laser.
The new system, called Quazer, is based on proprietary technology and features a number of important breakthroughs in the sawing, cutting and shaping of diamonds.
This technology apparently has advantages over the previous methods of cutting diamonds, such as the ability to cut the ever so damage-prone "tension stones." Although Israel is not the diamond capital of the world, this technology may establish the little Jewish state as a major player in that industry. END
