Iran Denying Foreign Election Observers
[Media Source*] (Hat Tip: Regime Change Iran)
"Observing the elections is a red line that no foreigner should cross," said Gholam Hossien Elham, a spokesman for Iran's Guardians Council -- a hardline-controlled political watchdog.
"Any talk of international monitoring of the elections in our country is against the constitution and the country's national interest. There is no need for it," he asserted.
Despite having complete control of the media, court system, political watch groups as well as security the Iranian regime seems a little "shy" about allowing foreigners observing their "electoral process." It seems strange that a regime would desire not to be held accountable on the fairness of the process, especially since the Guardians Council (also controlled by hardliners) actually chooses who can run for office and who can not.
Under Underground, a citizen from Iran expresses his thoughts on some of the conservative candidates (mind his English as he is learning).
I think there is no need I write about principle of conservatives. They are support theocracy and their utopia is a close society for controlling people easily and 1984 is their bible ;)
If that is true, then it should come to no surprise if Iran "elects" a very theocratic President, if not a hardliner against Israel and America. Such a leader would not only bring about the demise of the already dying EU-Iranian Nuke agreement but would also escalate tensions in the middle east as Israel seems to be preparing for a possible war with a regime that displays public hostility towards it's existence.
