More than 70,000 dead in Darfur
[Media Source*] A sad reality for a region the U.N. refuses to recognize as genocide.
"Is it three times that? Is it five times that? I dont know, but its several times the number of 70,000 that have died altogether," [Jan] Egeland told reporters shortly after returning from a four-day trip to the region.
There are currently between one and two million people displaced because of the violence with little action taken inside the world community. And you wonder why the U.N. has lost it's moral voice around the globe.
