Blog Storming CNN
[Media Source*] It looks like CNN is in for a Blog Storm from Eason's faulty comments claiming U.S soldiers targeted and killed CNN journalists. Eason' defense:
"To be clear, I do not believe the U.S. military is trying to kill journalists in Iraq. I said so during the forum panel discussion. But, nonetheless, the U.S. military has killed several journalists in Iraq in cases of mistaken identity. The reason the word 'targeted' came up at all is because I was responding to a comment by Congressman Franks, who said he believed the 63 journalists killed in Iraq were the victims of 'collateral damage.' Since three of my CNN colleagues and many other journalists have been killed on purpose in Iraq, I disputed the 'collateral damage' statement, saying, unfortunately, many journalists -- not all -- killed in Iraq were indeed targeted.
GOP Bloggers has a funny response to Eason's petty comments.
Nifty bit of backpedalling there - but, after all is said and done, Eason is still saying that journalists have been targeted; and that three CNN journalists were killed. According to Thoughts Online, however, only one CNN journalist has been killed - one plus zero does not traditionally equal three, so we need further clarification from Eason - especially as the one CNN journalist known to have been killed was killed by unknown assailants.
It gets funnier...read more below.
Of course, the real way out of this for Eason is to say "look, I was making up some anti-American garbage because that is what I do - I'm sorry it bit me on the rear and now I'm quitting CNN to go join the fine people at the Weekly World News where my journalistic skills will be valued". We wont get that, of course; honesty is never seen as the best policy by MSM dolts under the gun - so, we'll continue to be entertained by this for a while. Dan Rather is probably a bit happier, now that he's not the only guy in the blogosphere's frying pan.
I couldn't have put it better...Selah!
