US pledges $350 million to Tsunami
[Media Source*] In a show of generosity the President announced that the U.S. would be pledging ten times the amount it originally offered to the nations affected by the Tsunami, from $35 million to $350 million. I guess he is trying to show just how "stingy" America can be, according to the United Nations. Well...there is more below and I am out for the day...Happy New Years everyone!

U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell discusses the international response at the UN on Friday.
President Bush is sending Colin Powell to visit the areas in order to determine what else our country can do to help these people. His brother Jeb will accompany him as he already knows the devastating affect that weather can have on land. President Bush went on to say:
"Initial findings of American assessment teams on the ground indicate that the need for financial and other assistance will steadily increase in the days and weeks ahead."
"Our contributions will continue to be revised as the full effects of this terrible tragedy become clearer," Bush said.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this epic disaster."
Hopefully aid will arrive soon as reports of deaths exceeding 150,000 are now reaching this blogger's ears. Selah!
