Pro Gay License Plates?
[Media Source*] (Hat Tip: World Mag Blog)
(ABC 7 Chicago) Elizabeth Solomon wants the world to know she thinks gays are OK. She wants the personalized license plates "GAYSROK."
But officials of Utah's Department of Motor Vehicles refused to issue the vanity tags. The D-M-V said license plates are not a public forum.
Although some may side with the DMV on this issue (via moral grounds) it is unreasonable to dictate what a person can display on their license plate legally and logically. License plates are commonly used to display a person's viewpoint whether they are pro-life, support a favorite sport's team or even spell their own name (if it will fit). To simply deny this right based on one's opinion violates free speech and is indeed an act of censorship.
Although Elizabeth Solomon has one the first "round" of court cases, she is not out of the woods yet as the state will probably appeal the decision wasting even more tax payer's money. There is a possibility that this case will reach federal levels (or even the U.S. Supreme Court) but hopefully a court with reason can decide on this quickly allowing citizens once again to exercise their opinion regardless of their political/philosophical perspectives.

I totally agree. The moral idiots are just trying to muscle their views on us. But they know they are losing the battle slowly and everyday we push that much closer to freedom. Thank god Vermont had the balls to legalize marriage, and stood up for the person and not the religion.
