(Earth Times) The country, which has been increasingly getting isolated in the international community as a result of its open admission of a nuclear program and its behavior akin to a rogue country, got on to a sparring match with the U.S. administration, when it described vice president Dick Cheney a "bloodthirsty beast". Cheney had earlier in an interview to a media organization, called Kim Jong Il "one of the world's most irresponsible leaders".
- Austrian police find dead babies: "Austrian police said Friday they had arrested the mother and her partner for the murder of three babies found dumped in a freezer and concrete."
- Nepal-India ties smooth: "Asked about the present status of Nepal-India ties, Adhikari said that both the countries were seriously working towards forging mutual cooperation in different areas and were pursuing for a relation that is free from all forms of irritants." This strange paradox is explained by a very unusual winter in the Arctic, where stratospheric winds brought in large quantities of ozone from the Earth's middle latitudes. This was the first winter monitored by Aura, which was launched in 2004."
- Nepalese Climbers Wed Atop Mount Everest: "KATMANDU, Nepal - Two Nepalese climbers were on top of the world this week - not only because they reached the top of Mount Everest but because they got married there in what was believed to be the first wedding on the summit."
- Apple Launches IPod Recycling Program: "SAN FRANCISCO - Apple Computer Inc. launched a recycling program Friday for its popular iPod, encouraging owners to bring their digital music players to Apple retail stores for free, environmentally friendly disposal."
