Jewish Group critizes Senator Byrd
[Media Source*] (Hat Tip: Seattle Post-Intelligencer)
A pair of Jewish groups accused Sen. Robert Byrd on Wednesday of making an outrageous and reprehensible comparison between Adolf Hitler's Nazis and a Senate GOP plan to block Democrats from filibustering.
Byrd spokesman Tom Gavin denied that Byrd, D-W.Va., had compared Republicans to Hitler. He said that instead, the reference to Nazis in a Senate speech on Tuesday was meant to underscore that the past should not be ignored.
Really? You could have used a better example their buddy! If the Democrats retain more morons like these as leadership models, they will begin to lose more elections down the road.
"It is hideous, outrageous and offensive for Senator Byrd to suggest that the Republican Party's tactics could in any way resemble those of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party," [Abraham H.] Foxman [(national director of the Anti-Defamation League)] said.
The dumbest part is that Byrd was once affiliated with the KKK, and I don't mean the Kissing Kite Klub either. Calling the Republicans Nazi's (or referring to them as such) is quite ridiculous especially if you have a past association with the Klan. If Byrd keeps making wild speeches such as these in the future, he may be joining Dan Rather and Eason Jordan on the "you've been blogged" list. Selah!
